Within sociolinguistics, perspectives to multilingualism have changed considerably during the last decades. At same time, along ‘multilingual turn’ in sociolinguistics and language education studies, number of available concepts discuss multilingual repertoires practices has increased very quickly. Notions such as translanguaging plurilingualism entered linguistic parlance yet actual nature change or its pedagogical relevance might be difficult discern amid diverse scholarly discourses where theoretical practical concerns are tangled together. This article discusses turn consequences by focusing on some broader, metatheoretical changes that taken place so-called studies. These perceiving essence language, skills, learning tightly connected with ideological within field. I illustrate these ideologies their especially for classroom pedagogy newcomer students.
